Getting Started

I enjoyed every volunteering experience as I got to interact with different vulnerable segments of the society and they have taught me much much more than I have given. We are never remembered by the amount of money we have or the number of achievements we have, but we are remembered by each person whom we made a difference to, by each life we went out to touch.

Students can join existing community projects organised by your seniors. Please also feel free to share with C4SR if you are already volunteering in your personal capacity and explore with us how you can subsequently record this current volunteer involvement as part of your graduation requirement.

For other volunteering opportunities:

  1. Check the OnTRAC system where our partner non-profit organisations regularly post volunteer opportunities
  2. Refer to emailers from C4SR on volunteer opportunities/projects
  3. Look for voluntary welfare/non-profit/community organisations in your neighbourhood and check their website for volunteering opportunities or contact the organisations directly

There are plenty of opportunities for students to work with beneficiaries and non-profit organisations in Singapore – be it children from low-income families, the disabled, migrant workers, environment or social enterprises. If you are interested to start your own project or you have some new ideas, please feel free to visit us at C4SR office or email us at commsvcs@smu.edu.sg to explore further.
