Organised by SMU Floorball Club, Project Floorever Friends is a pilot community service project with Life Community Services Society (LCSS), in partnership with Ministry of Education (MOE) – UPLIFT, and East Coast Town Council, to provide a more integrated family support network for children aged between 6 to 9 and their families residing in rental flats in the Bedok North area.
Through weekly educational games and small group mentoring sessions conducted in the evening, the project helps children develop effective learning habits and cultivate positive attitudes toward both education and life. These structured activities create opportunities for meaningful one-on-one interaction, allowing volunteers to build strong trust and rapport with participants while providing essential childcare support to families in the community.
Special family outings are regularly organised to strengthen community bonds and create nurturing environments where children can thrive. These shared experiences foster a sense of belonging and collective purpose, while providing opportunities for meaningful interaction between volunteers, children, and their families. Through consistent engagement and personalised support, the project encourages each child to reach their full potential, recognising that success looks different for every individual regardless of their starting circumstances or home environment.
This project was supported by Shirin Fozdar Community Service Project Grant (2023 - 2024).
